I’m Damien, the Member of Parliament for Bristol North East. I grew up in Kingswood and I want to ensure our area’s voice is heard in Parliament. I am here to help, if you have an issue I can support you with please get in touch.

I grew up locally, I went to primary school at Our Lady of Lourdes in Kingswood and went to Hanham High for secondary school. I’ve lived almost everywhere in our constituency at some point of my life and I still live locally today. I was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Kingswood in February 2024 and I am also a member of the Work and Pensions Select Committee.

Growing up here I was also a local parish councillor in Downend, but like many young people in our area I eventually moved to London for university and work. That’s when I was an elected council leader. This experience means I understand the challenges people are facing but also what is required to deliver change for an area. As a council leader we improved our area by building the highest number of new council homes for a generation, turned around our children’s social services and drove up standards in our local schools, whilst also becoming a leading council for protecting our environment.
I have also previously worked at the Ethical Trading Initiative where we worked to remove modern slavery and exploitation from global supply chains.
