I have been working with Greenpeace to raise awareness of the Global Ocean Treaty.
The Global Oceans Treaty aims to protect a third of the world’s oceans by 2030, by introducing national park-like protections in our oceans.
In Parliament I hosted an event for the launch of Greenpeace’s new report which calls on the Government to take international action to protect our oceans.
Without our oceans human life cannot exist. We need this treaty to protect them. 20 countries have so far ratified the treaty and I believe the UK has a large role to play in protecting our oceans and seas.
