Thank you to all the volunteers who make these celebrations happen – South Glos does Armed Forces Day very well!
It’s an important day – honouring those who have served and are serving.
An opportunity for our cadets – I’ve put a link to the various local cadets groups below. Some cadets I spoke to told me they’re currently looking for adult volunteers so that they have enough help to cover all the activities they do. Essential if they’re to grow.
Also, building support for our armed forces and giving people the opportunity to meet them and learn what they do.
Special tribute to Harry Francis a veteran of the Far East during the Second World War.
Filton and Bradley Stoke and Thornbury and Yate were represented by Claire Hazelgrove MP and Claire Young MP, where we all gave words of support.
If you didn’t make it this year, worth looking out for next. All family friendly. As well as the formal and ceremonial side you also have stalls, displays and rides. Well done everyone involved and thank you!
